Friday’s Tid-Bits (Week21)

Sharing with you some of my favourite pre-loved, shabby chic and vintage treasures that I’ve stumbled upon whilst doing my research…

262

Left: What a fun idea for centrepieces, particularly if you’re having lots of children at your wedding! They look bold and beautiful and they’ll keep the little lovelies quiet! You could even leave some little note cards next to the jar for your guests to write multi-coloured well wishes on! Oh, the possibilities! (By Nicole Hill Gerulat, styled by One Charming Party).

Right: How clever- blackboard oil cloth! Perfect for favour bags or even a picnic lunch! Cute right?! (Via Fresh Home).

259

Loving this! What an amazing centrepiece idea! Although I’d stuff them full of flowers, fresh, paper or fabric so they’re overflowing! I often find myself swooning over vintage shoes, trouble is they’re often a size4 (UK) or smaller! Now I have an excuse to buy them! Whoop! (From Sweet Peach)

261

Lady Bonin’s Tea Parlour! Wow! This South African gem, has inspired me no end! Do we have anything like this in the UK? Or the US? Do give me a shout if you know of any, as I’d love to feature them!

248

Simply ADORE this little tutorial on PaperVine! Cute wedding gift for your groom/bride or even as a guestbook… ’52 secrets to a happy marriage’ perhaps?!

156

I HEART STAMPS! The thought of being able to just stamp your design on ANY surface really excites me- so much fun to be had! This hand carved rubber Union Jack stamp was made by Skull and Cross Buns on Etsy. They have loads of the cutest stamps for you to choose from and even do custom ones!

257

Biggest loves: mismatched treasures and multi-colours! So of course my heart skipped a beat when I saw this from My Blonde Ambitions! Swoon!

Hope you are suitably inspired by today’s Tid-Bits! Which is your favourite?

187

Completely head over heels (pardon the pun) for these vintage twenties brocade peeptoe shoes… aren’t you?! They were whipped up on Etsy, unsurprisingly, but it just goes to show what beauties there are out there for the taking! (From Mama Vintage on Etsy)

245

How darling is this little burlap pouch save the date?! Bowled over by the thought and creativity that went into this. Head over to Sparkle & Hay to find out what all these little clues mean… so romantic!

253

Left: Buttons in vases- a wonderfully unique rustic looking touch! Love the way they contrast with the fresh, clean pinks of the pretty flowers! Ooo, you could use pennies too! (Found via Pinterest)

Right: If you’re a Junk Shop Bride regular, you’ll know I am a massive admirer of the creative imaginations of Luna & Chloe. Just look at these gorgeous little happy tear hankies! Brings a little happy tear to my eye!

225

What a wonderful party spread display on Too Stinkin’ Cute! Say no more! Just sit back and draw inspiration!

251

Wedding program fan- love multi-purposing! These are made from scrapbook paper, but you could use wallpaper samples, wrapping paper, book pages or even fabric! I found this great tutorial on Goodness Recycled.

147

Another burst of inspiration on Love My Dress- little tin buckets filled with sweets- an adorable display idea! LOVE the little tags too!

I do hope you have found inspiration here for your own junk shop wedding- which idea takes your fancy?

Friday’s Tid-Bits (Week19)

Sharing with you some of my favourite pre-loved, shabby chic and vintage treasures that I’ve stumbled upon whilst doing my research…

235

This wonderfully creative Green Wedding Shoes bride, made a quilt and had their guests write their well-wishes on it! “I’m excited to read soon while snuggled up with my hubsky!” Ahh!

238

Left: How beautiful is this lace decoration… looks like a pretty straight forward DIY project too! Fab! From a real wedding featured on Oh Hello Friend.

Right: 1920′s vintage typewriter keys, used to adorn place cards… LOVE! Found on Martha Stewart Weddings.

232

Curtains at a wedding- stunning! I do love burlap, but imagine all the stunning patterns and colours you could use! So pretty! Found on The Secret Life of Invites Blog.

226

Left: Adore this menu come favour pouch I stumbled upon on Jolie Jolie! Such a clever idea. Love the rusticity and simplicity of it too!

Right: DIY coffee filter garlands! Fabulous! I love seeing such beauty derived from something so unlikely! Created by one very talented Pam Garrison.

239

Rustic beauty-  a hay bale sofa, compete with blankets, throws and cushions- much love! Featured by The Natural Wedding Company.

Friday’s Tid-Bits (Week18)

Sharing with you some of my favourite pre-loved, shabby chic and vintage treasures that I’ve stumbled upon whilst doing my research…

223

LOVE the use of graphic type in this gorgeous shoot created by In The Now Weddings and Event, featured on Grey Likes Weddings. This was my favourite, but there are many more ideas, such as ‘take me home’ on the favours and ‘cool your jets’ on the bar!

237

Left: Found this fabulous hanging display on A Beautiful Cliche. Am a big fan of X’s and O’s… throw a few gorgeous photos into the mix and you’ve won my heart!

Right: These are the most perfect wedding shoes ever, found on Hi-Fi Weddings! You could always add fabric flowers to a plain pair of shoes if you can’t afford the designer kind! Here’s How To Make Your Own Paper & Fabric Flowers For Your Handmade Wedding!

227

I’ve always loved the rustic charm of hay bale seating at a wedding! How gorgeous are these knotted sheets all mismatched and beautiful… practical too! (Air We Inspire)

224

Left: Fingerprint announcement cards! Too cute! Perfect for all your wedding stationery! (by Jason Permenter on Flickr)

Right: Another gorgeous rustic touch found on Style Me Pretty- fabric flowers on a hessian/burlap cutlery pocket! So simple!

236

Oh WOW! These giant illuminated letters are AMAZING! And what an incredible venue! I insist you head over to Rock n’ Roll Bride and take a look!

That’s it for this week- hope you were sufficiently inspired! Would love to know which Tid-Bit is your favourite! xXx

Friday’s Tid-Bits (Week17)

Sharing with you some of my favourite pre-loved, shabby chic and vintage treasures that I’ve stumbled upon whilst doing my research…

204

What an uber-cute idea- a light picnic, individually boxed up for each guest! Quite possibly my favourite Tid-Bit ever! (Found on 100 Layer Cake)

200

Adorable drink and favour station displaying furniture & accessories found in a family barn. The silver tea set and concrete urn vase, were found at a garage sale. The ‘Wet Your Whistle’ sign was made from salvaged barn wood and hand-painted. A true Junk Shop Bride featured on 100 Layer Cake.

206

I urge you to check out the DIY hanging mason jar candles ‘how to’ on Brenda’s Wedding Blog! Don’t they look incredible as part of this beautiful evening tea tablescape?!

221

I found this fabulous snippet of inspiration on Pinterest. Just love the idea of surrounding your empty photobooth frames with family and/or engagement photos in mismatched frames!

Untitled-1

Left: The guests at this exquisite 100 Layer Cake wedding, waved these adorable ‘hooray’ flags made from muslin and a custom gold stamp. Cuteness!

Right: What a sweet favour idea- ‘Herbs du Jar’, found on Better Homes & Gardens. You could pop little cocktail stick flags in the soil to name the herb and your guests could pick their favourite!

211

Fingerprint tree guestbook! LOVE.IT! A few words from the artists Bleu de Toi on Etsy; “After a sunny fall wedding in 2009, which was preceded by many months of DIY projects and crafting, we were inspired to share a few of these gems with a greater audience.” Delightful huh?!

So, what did you think of this week’s Tid-Bits? Do you have a favourite? xXx

Friday’s Tid-Bits (Week16)

Sharing with you some of my favourite pre-loved, shabby chic and vintage treasures that I’ve stumbled upon whilst doing my research…

172

Left: This clever Rock My Wedding bride left old Polaroid cameras with her guest book for guests to add their photos and comments of the day! I just LOVE this idea!

Right: Who’s eyes wouldn’t light up at the site of retro sweets in a jam jar?! The perfect little favour! (Also found on Rock My Wedding).

150

Left: You all know I adore creative tableplans- well it doesn’t come much more creative than this! This Victorian letter cabinet was a fab Brighton junk shop find! All the drawers and shelves represented a table, but they were two tables short, so, rather ingenious I think, they cut a rectangle out of a dictionary and displayed the table number inside, then for the last table, names were placed on individual pencils in a jar marked ‘table 4′!  (Another Rock My Wedding gem)!

Right: Lovely story and gorgeous design! These cowbells were part of the bride’s grandfather’s collection from all over the world, which had hung as an installation in her grandparents’ house when she was growing up. Love sentimentality like that! The bride had adorned them with various ribbons and hung them on the chairs, each differing from the next- beautiful! And what’s more, their guests rang them as they came back down the aisle as a husband and wife! (Green Wedding Shoes).

137

Left: LOVE buttons! Enough said! (Part of real wedding feature on Green Wedding Shoes).

Right: What a cute detail! Adore quirky ideas like this to make your wedding decor extra special! (Rock My Wedding).

146

A fabulous Love My Dress bride after my own heart! This exquisite dress was an Ebay treasure at only £620! Please do shop around for your dress- there are so many beautiful bargains to be had!

I do hope you have gathered inspiration from this week’s Tid Bits! Which is your favourite? xXx
